EXECUTIVE PRODUCER & DIRECTOR

Michael Goldberg (born 1945) has been active in video art and production for 40 years, 25 of them in Japan. Educated in Montreal, Canada (McGill University and Ecole des beaux arts), he moved to Vancouver in 1971, and co-founded the "Video In" artists' centre. After publishing the first of seven "International Video Exchange Directories," he visited Japan in 1972, where he helped organize Tokyo's first video art exhibition, "Video Communication" at the Sony Building in Ginza. He was the first Video Officer of the Canada Council (1977~79), and has written extensively about video, including "The Accessible Portapack Manual," (1976), "La videographie a la portee de tous" (1977), and "Video In & Out," (in Japanese, 1989). Freelancing as a TV cameraman & editor, he founded International Videoworks, Inc. in 1990.

Previous works include:
-"Customs & Manners - The Fabric of Japanese Society" (1990, 30', colour video) Documentary in the series "Nippon - the Land & Its People."
-"Working Women - Personal & Social Goals" (1991, 30', colour video) Documentary in the series "Nippon - the Land & Its People."
-"Hanayome-tachi ga Mita Nippon" (1996, 88', "ETV Tokushu" NHK BS-1) Documentary about early Meiji era and pre-WWII foreign wives of Japanese.
-"Living in Japan" (1997, 90', American Chamber of Commerce in Japan) Introduction to getting along in Japan, for newcomers and visitors.

CO-PRODUCER

John Wittmayer has worked in the Canadian film business since 1988. He has extensive experience on major feature films, TV movies, TV series, and commercials. An active member of the Directors Guild of Canada, he has acquired a variety of film-related skills over his career, including Unit/Production Management and Location Management. A long time student of Zen in Japan, he resides in Vancouver.

COMPOSER

Morgan Fisher was born in London, England in 1950. In the late 1960s he was organist in the hit band The Love Affair, then in Mott the Hoople (1973-76) and Queen (1982). Morgan left behind stardom in rock music for a more spiritual lifestyle. He moved to Japan in 1985, where he composes music for television commercials and films. Morgan is known for collaborations with musicians of repute around the world, and for his solo ambient / experimental music performances and recordings.
